The End of the F***ing World
Already over after just two short (eight episodes each) seasons. Due to the (more than) two year gap between seasons I simply rewatched the entire first season as well, otherwise I would have had no clue what happened. I’m not entirely sure it would have mattered too much, but I’m still glad I did, because it’s a very enjoyable show. Which is kinda weird, considering how morbid it all is.
I’m not 100% sold on the addition of basically a third main character in the second season, because what made the first one so good was the chemistry and interaction between the two young leads. It mostly worked, but there were moments where I caught myself thinking that I’d rather see what’s going on with those two right now instead of getting more backstory.
Given how short it is, and considering it ended on its own terms and hence told what it wanted to tell, nothing more, nothing less, I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot. One of the increasingly few things I don’t regret starting/watching.
